If you are a sexually active woman who has begun menstruating then you should know about pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Educating yourself about this disease can help in prevent it or detect it in its early stages. This is a serious disease that can lead to life threatening illness if left untreated. It is estimated that 1 in 10 women will have PID, and 75% of the cases will occur in women under 25 years of age.

The infection can spread from the inside of the uterus and tubes into the abdomen and cause infection and abscess or a collection of pus on or around other internal organs. When the uterus and tubes are infected the woman usually experiences a thick vaginal discharge that may or may not have a bad odor. She may experience much heavier than normal periods with more cramping and blood clots in her menstrual flow. Sexual intercourse may be increasingly painful.

PID can cause injury to the fallopian tubes that transport eggs from the ovaries to the womb. Fallopian tubes may stop working or become completely blocked. Scarring of the uterus and fallopian tubes can greatly decrease the chances of fertilization and pregnancy. Women with damaged fallopian tubes can become pregnant, but there is an increased risk of the pregnancy developing in the fallopian tubes instead of the womb. This is known as an ectopic pregnancy. The fallopian tube can tear causing severe pain and bleeding. Bleeding can be a life threatening condition.

Even if treated at this stage, the damage has been done. The destroyed lining of the tube may cause gluing together of the walls of the tube, causing blockage of the tube later, to both egg and sperm cells. For pregnancy to occur, the sperm cells and the ovum must meet in the tubes for fertilization to occur and the product of fertilization must be transported from the tube to the uterine cavity on time for implantation. So, even if the tubes don't get blocked by agglutination of their walls due to stickiness caused by past infections, the destruction of the tubal lining still affect fertility because the ciliary wave motion of the tubes that serve to move the fertilized ovum down to the uterus right on time for implantation, is lost.

Endometrioma appears when the ovary is invaded by the endometrial tissue. This cyst fills with blood, and has a dark, reddish-brown color. It is also called chocolate cyst. It doesn’t show any symptoms usually, but it can be sometimes painful, especially during intercourse, or during your period.

This is something that I am in current praxis (or practice) with and discovering that I am eating what is called within earth dimensional amounts is less and less food. This is why when we come closer to the shifting from the physical body into spiritual soul being (or dying as we call it) that we tend to eat less food and rely upon the air we breathe and the water we drink to sustain the physical body that the soul resides in. The air in our respiration, bringing us in a constant resonance of being in spirit and being connected to, for, of, and with and the water that we drink and absorb within all that surround us, then is our food.
